Betel vine (Piper betle L.) belongs to genus Piper of the family Piperaceae. Leaves of Piper betle posses several bioactivities and are used in traditional medicinal systems. Many research studies on Piper betle has reported that it contains important chemical constituents and are acts to arouse action for its medicinal properties like anticancer, anti-allergic, anti-malaria, anti-filarial, antibacterial, antifungal study, insecticidal, antioxidant, anti-diabetic, gastro-protective, cyto-toxic, anti-platelet, wound healing activity, chlorophyllase activity, oral hygiene and anti-asthmatic effect. The present paper also focused on diseases of betel vine and their various symptoms.
