A review on phytochemistry and pharmacological importance of Tanner’s cassia

Tanner's cassia, also called Cassia auriculata or Senna auriculata, is a flowering plant indigenous to Srilanka and India. For many years, this plant has been used in a wide range of traditional siddha and Ayurvedic medicines. It has abundant pharmacological residences such as Anti-fungal, Antibacterial, Anti-obese, Antimicrobial, Anti-cancer, Anti-viral, and Anti- diabetic, Anti-Inflammatory. It also used in skin conditions, digestive troubles, eye infections, and urinary abnormalities and liver disorders. The Chemical Components including flavonoids, saponins, carbohydrates, proteins, amino acids, phenols, tannins, steroids and alkaloids. These compounds are responsible for anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer, antidiabetic, antibacterial, and antioxidant properties. An overview of Tanner’s cassias has its key medicinal properties, underlining its importance combination both in traditional and modern medical treatment practices.
