Plant extraction and formulation methods provide isolation of various types of bioactive compounds. In the present investigation the analysis of bioactive compounds from extracts of different parts of the Senna sophera (L.) Roxb. var. Purpurea (Roxb. ex Lindl.) Singh involving the applications of phytochemical screening. It also analyses the extraction, isolation and characterization of bioactive mixes of compounds by Soxhlet extraction method and new source of drug discoveries and also helps in knowing the real importance of folk medicine. These bioactive components evaluated using the high resonance liquid chromatography technique (HRLC-MS). The present investigation described and justified a simple, sensitive HR-LC/MS technique for the characterization and quantitative estimation of the compounds. Senna sophera (L.) Roxb. var. Purpurea (Roxb. ex Lindl.) Singh (Caesalpiniaceae known as ‘Kasondi’is an important drug of Islamic System of Medicine (Unani Medicine). In ethno botanical literature it is mentioned to be effective in the treatment of pityriasis, psoriasis, asthma, acute bronchitis, cough, diabetes and convulsions of children hence the present study was taken for investigation.
