Tylophora indica, a medicinal plant from the Asclepiadaceae family has long been used for its diverse medicinal properties. The plant is rich in bioactive phytochemicals known for their ability to combat reactive oxygen species (ROS) make it useful for radioprotection. This study focused on evaluating phytochemical profile and the antioxidant potential by measuring total flavonoid and phenolic contents, along with evaluating radical scavenging capacity using DPPH, hydroxyl radical, and ABTS assays. The qualitative phytochemical exploration of the hydro-methanolic extract from the leaves of T. indica was found to contain terpenoids, flavonoids, steroids, phenolic compounds, alkaloids and saponins. The extract contained 37 µg of phenols (as gallic acid equivalent) and 105 µg of flavonoids (as rutin equivalent) per mg of hydro-methanolic extract. It was also demonstrated the potent antioxidant properties, with inhibition rates of 92.06±0.875%, 93.11±1.72% and 82.70±1.31% for DPPH, ABTS, hydroxyl radicals, compared to those of standard ascorbic acid.
