The field experiment was conducted at Al-Shuaiba Farm, located in Basra Governorate, from November 22, 2022, to May 1, 2024. The aim was to study the effect of soil amendments (compost and polymer) on some physical properties of soil (Mean weight diameter and moisture content) planted with eucalyptus seedlings. The experimental treatments were: Treatment without additives (control treatment), Compost soil improver treatment, according to the recommended fertilizer requirement of 30 tons ha-1 (Added at a weight of 2 kg mixed with the soil in to adepth 20 cm. polymer (polyelectrolyte) treatment at a concentration of 0.03% (Added at a weight of 32 gm mixed with the surface layer of the hole to a depth of 20 cm), and mixing treatment (compost: polymer) at a ratio of 1:1 mixed with the soil to a depth of 20 cm. The mean weight diameter and moisture content were measured at the beginning of planting (one month after planting) and at the end of the agricultural experiment. The results showed that adding compost and polymer improvers, led to an increase in the mean weight diameter of the soil and the soil moisture content. The addition of soil improvers (compost and polymer) at 1:1 ratio also demonstrated superiority in increasing the mean weight diameter and soil moisture content by 65.78 and 51.30%, respectively, compared to the control treatment show that there was a highly significant effect of the soil amendment treatments on plant height values, at the end of the agricultural experiment.
