Medicinal plants, treatment, human diseases, tribes, bijawar block

This Paper on the use of medicinal plants by the villagers and tribal peoples of Bijawar block, Chhatarpur district to heal significant human diseases. A total 34 plant species and 22 families of medicinal plants were identified in which are represent 15 herbs, Climber 03, 08 shrubs and 08 trees respectively. The scientific name, local name, family, habit, manner of usage, and parts used are listed for every species. In Bijawar block the Scheduled Castes (SC) Approximately 37,346 individuals and Scheduled Tribes (ST) Approximately 23,804 individuals and largest tribal group followed by Sahariya, Gond, Korwa, Kol and Bhil (in minor presence) in Bijawar region. They traditionally forest dwellers and shifting cultivators and known for their simple lifestyle, unique and self-made traditional medicine system. In order to gather and identify plants for their plant parts that are beneficial to human diseases, botanists, ethnobotanists, and pharmacologists will find this thorough information useful.
